Patient Record

Emergency Care Record

Most patients in Scotland now have an Emergency Care Summary containing basic information about your health in case of an emergency.  Your ECS summary contains information to identify you, i.e. name, address, registered GP, any medicines you have been prescribed recently, any medications you are allergic to.

NHS staff such as Ayrshire Doctors On Call, NHS 24, A&E can also use your Emergency Care Summary.

Before any member of staff looks at your Emergency Care Summary, they must get your consent. If you are too unwell to give consent, they may need to read your Emergency Care Summary without your agreement in order to give you the best possible care.  You can opt out from this service if you wish.

CLINICAL RESEARCH

Supporting Clinical Trials

The Practice works with Panthera, an industry leading clinical trials company.    Clinical trials are essential in determining the advantages and efficacy of medicines and devices before they are made available to the public.  The Panthera Clinic in Glasgow has a highly qualified team of Doctors, Nurses and Technicians who provide the highest standard of care. Please visit their website https://pantheraclinic.co.uk for more information on what is involved in a clinical trial.

Your information is NOT SHARED with Panthera as the Practice identifies patients who may be suitable and invites them.  Anyone wishing to participate will consent directly with Panthera.  Partcipating patients are reimbursed for travel expenses.   If you do receive an invitation to participate and you wish to opt out for any future invites please contact the Practice.
